About Us

My photo
Shawn and I were married 19 years ago. Since then we have had three great children: Elias is 17, Dalton is 15, and Megan is 12. They are our lives. We go to a lot of football and basketball games and dance reviews but, we love it and wouldn't change our lives for the world. I've started this blog so that family and friends can see what's going on in the Brooks family. So enjoy...

Still kicking

Well, the Brooks family is still plugging along.  We have been so busy with football that life has been a little crazy.  Dalton's team had a play-off game yesterday afternoon but, unfortunately they lost to Manti.  That means Dalton and his dad are now done with football.  I have quite a honey-do list for Shawn and he knows it.
Elias is still playing football and has been put on the Varsity special teams.  He does an excellent job and at Fri. nights game (which was homecoming) the announcer highlighted him and called him "Mr. Special Teams" we got a good laugh and love to tease Elias about his new nick name.
Megan is going to start dancing with a competition club and she is so excited about that.  She loves her new school teacher and is really working on her writing abilities because it is the teacher's passion.  Megan is an excellent writer and has a knack for putting things into words.
I'm hanging in (if only by my fingernails) at my teaching position.  I absolutely love it.  I should be writing a test but...
Shawn is going to NYC next month.  I am so jealous.  He doesn't necessarily like to travel and I love it so it only figures that he would be the one who gets to do it (and his company pays for it too--it can't get any better).

Still Playing Football

Well, its mid September and we are still in football mode at the Brooks house.  Elias is playing more and more varsity which is really a lot of fun. Varsity is undefeated and JV is 2 and 2.
Dalton's team won their game today and so they will be in the playoffs.  His little team has struggled this year which is so hard to believe because they dominated last year.
Megan is still Megan.  She is always wanting to play with her friends and her parents are always wanting her to clean up her messes.
Shawn and I had our anniversary on Monday.  We celebrated on Saturday by going to the temple and then going out for a nice dinner.
We are looking forward to dinner with our extended families the next two Sundays to celebrate September birthdays. TTFN
